STEP1:HASTAK
( HAND GESTURES)

Hastak are like a visual language that convey emotions, objects, and ideas in Kathak dance. Hastak are used in both Nritta (abstract dance) and Abhinaya (expressive storytelling) aspects of Kathak.

STEP2: TATKAR (FOOTWORK)

Tatkar comes from Hindi, "Tat" meaning rhythm and "Kar" meaning to do. It's the backbone of Kathak, providing the rhythmic base for the dance. In Kathak dance, the rhythmic footwork is called Tatkar.

STEP3: CHOREOGRAPHY

Kathak choreography blends tradition with storytelling. It uses footwork, spins, and expressions to tell stories or evoke emotions. Choreography is heavily influenced by the music (taal and laya). The tempo, rhythm, and lyrics all play a role in shaping the movements.

I was got the opportunity to trained in kathak dance under the guidance of Maestro Pt. Birju Maharaj ji and Vidusi Saswati Sen. Over the past decade I had been working with eminent kathak Guru Maestro Pt. Birju Maharaj Ji and Vidusi Saswati Sen.

I am a Graded artist of Doordarshan kendra. Since 25 years, I was successfully participated at various prestigious festivals at different cities of India & abroad. ICCR Tour Delhi, ICCR Horizon Series Gujarat, Vasant Festival,Delhi, Modhera Festival, Mehsana,Gujrat ,Uday Shankar Festival, Barabati Festival, Chandipur Festival, Puri Beach Festivals, Buddha Gaya Festival, Doordarshan Kolkata, International Online Music And Dance Festival Nritya-Kalashree, Cuttack Mahotsav. A Proud Member of CID UNESCO Paris France 2021(CID- 30602).Received National Nritya Priya Award2020, Nrityashree Samman Award 2020, National Guru Ratna Award, National Guru Sarita Award..
